A report on the music industry, co-authored by Dr. Terje Gaustad, shows that earnings has shifted from rightsholders to retailers following the introduction of digital outlets like Spotify and YouTube. The report was commissioned by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture from BI Norwegian Business School’s Centre for Creative Industries and Menon Economics. On February 5, 2018, Dr. Terje Gaustad handed over his report on the economy of the film- and TV-industries to Norway’s Minister of Culture, Trine Skei Grande. At the Norwegian International Film Festival’s film policy conference in Haugesund on August 22, 2016, Vanquish Alliance CEO/Chairman Dr. Terje Gaustad spoke about alternative paths for the growth of the national film industry, focusing on those that are not dependent on increased subsidies.
Vanquish Alliance CEO/Chairman Dr. Terje Gaustad will speak at the opening conference of Tromsø Internationtional Film Festival on January 12, 2015. The topic of his speech is structural strategies for growth and private investments. A study lead by Vanquish Alliance CEO/Chairman Dr. Terje Gaustad shows that the Norwegian production sector is more consolidated than previously assumed, and that the leading producers enjoy stronger economies for both their projects and companies. In the six-year period studied these producers represented less than a third of the active production companies, but accounted for two thirds of the national production and 85 percent of the total cinema admissions to national movies.
The study was carried out in collaboration with Menon Business Economics and Dr. Donatella De Paoli for The Norwegian Film and TV Producers’ Association.

In his address Dr. Gaustad commented on a call for policy measures to improve production economies made in a recent report to the Norwegian government’s Ministry of Culture. Drawing on competitive and structural analysis he explained the current situation and identified shortcomings in the solutions suggested by the report.
